PROGRAM GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

Program Goals:

The following are the goals of the Accounting Program goals:

Goal # 1:

Educate students with core knowledge of Accounting.  

Goal # 2:

Prepare qualified graduates for professional practice to meet both the needs of the market as well as graduate studies.

Program Objectives

Consistent with the program and university mission, the Accounting Program educational objectives can be summarized as:

1. Providing students with the basic accounting theories and concepts necessary to obtain an entry-level accounting position in their chosen field.

2. Developing students’ skills and competencies that enable them to: communicate clearly and effectively, think creatively and critically, identify and solve problems scientifically, use computer and technology, and be able to work in teams and adapt to changes.

3. Enhancing students’ awareness of and ability to deal with ethical issues that they may face in real world situations.

4. Providing students with an understanding of accounting aspects of Islamic entities that are derived from Islamic values and the cultural features of the UAE society.
